An oracular figure welcomes visitors to her abode.

Project Background:

In summer 2008 I was experimenting with angular shapes. I wanted to create a vector piece featuring geometric forms, but as I was doodling ideas, the image of a triangular lady's hat began to emerge. Who would wear such a thing? I was reminded of surreal visions of the future, such as Fritz Lang's film masterpiece, "Metropolis", and the idea of a world where both organic lifeforms and artificially intelligent, mechanized beings co-existed solidified the direction this piece would take.

I especially like the contrast between the natural flow of the sky and the cold angularity of the "woman". I also like the blend of organic and non-organic making up the crystal rose in the vase on the table.
